Circumvention policies and consequences.
Concerns the following channels: Marketplace, Dropshipping
It is Orderchamp's mission to provide retailers and suppliers with a secure, professional platform to collaborate.
In exchange for our services (including payment guarantees, secure transactions and client matching), we charge fees to support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of our platform as well as the shipping costs.
Using our marketplace tools to deliberately drive customers away from the marketplace to your direct B2B portal is not allowed and will result in account suspension or permanent ban.
What is circumvention?
Some common examples of circumvention:
- Communicating and accepting payment outside of the marketplace
- Accepting or soliciting invoice payments outside of the marketplace
- A retailer canceling an order to work offsite with a brand they met on the marketplace
B2B Portal and marketplace tool misuse:
- Using Brand Campaigns to promote your B2B portal - Our brand campaigns feature is built to target prospects and existing customers for the marketplace, not to drive them to your direct B2B portal
- Promotional targeting with heavy discounting to deliberately move marketplace customers to your direct channel
- Deliberately attempting to move over bulk customer groups that you acquired via the marketplace - the B2B portal is not a replacement for the marketplace, it's your own direct channel
- Using price/discount tactics to move over marketplace customers, especially if you maintain different pricing between channels
What are the consequences for circumvention?
If a supplier violates our Non-Circumvention Policy, they will be immediately suspended or have their account permanently closed.
Why do we have these policies?
- We have to protect our marketplace customers - they have an account with Orderchamp, and we do not want to spam them with separate portals
- Fair marketplace practices - using our tools to deliberately move customers away undermines the platform that helped you acquire them
- Customer experience - price/discount tactics to move customers cause confusion and are not allowed
What should I do if a retailer asks me to connect off-site?
By taking a transaction off-site with a retailer, you waive all of the protections that Orderchamp provides—including secure payment and customer mediation. We will no longer be able to guarantee that you will be paid on time (or at all) and won't be able to resolve customer disputes without access to your platform communications.
If a customer asks you to take work or payment off of Orderchamp, they may not know that they are violating our site policy. We recommend that you refer them to the Buyer Protection help page.
If the client persists, you should contact an Orderchamp support representative.
